NORCROSS, GA. September 30, 1992 -- Spalding Software Inc. today announces
the availability of version 2.1 of AutoImport, it's popular data
translation utility. AutoImport offers quick, easy, and accurate data
translation between mainframe and PC software applications, completely
eliminating data compatibility problems. It supports Lotus 1-2-3, Excel,
Quattro, dBase and many other file formats. AutoImport translates only the
data selected by the user, and unlike other data translation utilities, it
can handle unwanted control characters, commas, percent signs, dates, and
other symbols.

New in this version is the capability to include formulas such as @SUM,
@AVG and @COUNT when translating a report into a spreadsheet. Version 2.1
also allows selected heading information to be repeated on each output
line for easier data identification in the target program.

AutoImport is completely PC based. It works with any ordinary report file
downloaded as a disk file via any host-to-PC file transfer, terminal
emulation program, or network connection. AutoImport can also work with
other PC applications such as accounting programs. And, for PC
applications that cannot "print to disk", AutoImport includes a Printer
Interceptor TSR program that automatically captures printed output to disk
for translation into the desired format.

AutoImport is simple to learn and use. It utilizes a familiar "Lotus-like"
menu structure and command set. Its visual interface and point-and-pick
operation allows the user to see what they are doing at all times. Once
the desired data is selected from the screen, the "mask" can be saved for
repeated use. Subsequent translations can be further automated by
incorporating masks into batch files or PC menu systems.

AutoImport retails for $189 for a single user version. It is also fully
network compatible. It requires an IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2 or compatible, DOS
2.1 or higher, and 400K of available RAM. AutoImport is available from
leading software dealers or Spalding Software Inc.

Spalding Software Inc. is also the developer of ProRep, a productivity
measurement program, and OpRep, an operations reporting program. They are
located at 154 Technology Parkway, Suite 250, Norcross, GA 30092. Phone
