ED-TECH REVIEW is a new quarterly magazine (non-electronic), premiering
January 1993, devoted to the issues and applications of educational
technology to enhance learning and teaching. Reviewed by leaders in the
field, this international periodical is designed to provide a multi-
disciplinary forum to present and discuss all aspects of educational
technology at the college and school levels.

ED-TECH REVIEW is published by the Association for the Advancement of
Computing in Education (AACE) for professors, teachers, developers,
researchers, administrators, teacher educators, and technology
coordinators representing all disciplines and levels of education.

By presenting the ideas and works of those engaged in the educational
process, ED-TECH REVIEW seeks to identify and discuss the opportunities
and challenges created by educational technology.

While there is the need for topic specific publications, hence the AACE
journals on multimedia, math/science, AI, teacher education, etc.; there
is also the need for a publication which shares and reflects upon the
insights gained in these specific areas in a broader forum. The purpose
of ED-TECH REVIEW is to offer the educational technology community an open
forum or fertile ground in which we can exchange information between
disciplines, educational levels, and information technologies; thus
resulting in the growth of ideas and practical solutions which contribute
toward the improvement of education.

ED-TECH REVIEW contains articles of general interest on educational
technology, columns on specific topics, official AACE notices, and regular
departments.

Departments include:

Association News Viewpoint Resources ED-TECH News
Conference Reports Book Reviews Product Reviews Calendar

Articles are invited on any aspect of educational technology in schools and
colleges. Contributions may include:

o Current issue discussions o Tutorials
     o Review papers o Opinions
o Reports on innovative projects o News briefs
     o Book/product reviews o Courseware Experiences

Article Guidelines

Manuscripts are to be submitted in triplicate and should not exceed 2,000
words, approximately 8 typed, double-spaced, 8.5" x 11" size pages. Hard
copies should be double-spaced; also welcome are submissions on disk (IBM
or Macintosh formats in ASCII and wordprocessor files) and via e-mail
(ASCII) to AACE@virginia.edu.

The format of headings, tables, figures, citations, references, and other
details should follow the APA style. Visuals and art such as screen
display images, photographs, and line drawings which can help readers to
better understand your subject are welcome and encouraged.

The audience is diverse and the focus is on the issues and practical
applications. Articles should be understood by the general reader in
educational technology. As an example, acronyms should be defined and
explained if they are of a special nature.
