CADVANCE for Windows Offers Microsoft Windows for Workgroups Capabilities

NEW YORK, New York (October 27, 1992)--Participating in Microsoft
Corporation's launch event in New York City today, ISICAD, Inc.,
demonstrated its CADVANCE for Windows software program operating with the
new mail-enabled capabilities offered by the Microsoft Windows for
Workgroups operating system version 3.1. This new enhancement enables
CADVANCE users to utilize the full range of Windows mail capabilities
without leaving CADVANCE, including the ability to send drawings and
attached notes over the network.

"Projects requiring drafting and design are typically a 'team sport' with
several people involved, and this new environment makes it even easier for
CADVANCE users to share their work," according to Yoav Etiel, ISICAD
manager of business development. "It's a logical next generation to
CADVANCE's pioneering support of workgroups in the CAD environment, such
as its built-in file locking, reference files, and drawing security
capabilities."

Windows for Workgroups capabilities were added to CADVANCE through
Microsoft's mail-enabling API integrated into CADVANCE using the CADVANCE
Basic language. CADVANCE's open architecture also enables corporate
developers and third-party integrators to utilize the API to tailor
CADVANCE for new and different solutions.

According to Etiel, "ISICAD is committed to making CADVANCE the top-rated
CAD package in the Windows environment, so adding this next level of
Windows support falls right in step with our strategic plan. For those
companies standardizing on the Windows environment, CADVANCE is the
logical choice for the graphics component, based on its open architecture
and complete support of all Windows features."

CADVANCE for Windows is a full-featured, professional-level CAD package,
completely redesigned for the Windows environment. It offers support for
virtually all Windows features, including Object Linking and Embedding
(OLE) as both client and server, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and the
Multiple Document Interface (MDI) for displaying multiple drawings and
multiple views. It also supports the display of raster images such as
scanned blueprints, photos, and bitmap images. CADVANCE utilizes BASIC as
its macro programming language, and includes a full compiler, editor and
debugger for third-party development. Additionally, the package can
directly read and write native AutoCad .DWG files as well as the neutral
.DXF format, so that users can easily share drawings with other CAD
packages.
