Gupta Expands 32-Bit Strategy With Support For Windows NT

Las Vegas, NV, November 16, 1992--Gupta Corporation is expanding its
support for 32-bit platforms with the announcement today that the
company's client-server products will be supporting Microsoft's Windows NT
operating system.

Gupta is currently developing Windows NT versions of its SQLBase Server
database server, SQLWindows client-server application development software
package, and Quest, a front-end query and reporting tool for end-users.
Availability of Gupta's Windows NT products is expected in 1993.

Gupta's support of Windows NT furthers the company's 32-bit multi-platform
strategy, which currently includes support for Unix (including Univel's
UnixWare operating system) and IBM's OS/2 2.0. Gupta is porting SQLBase
Server to OS/2 2.0 and Univel's UnixWare. It is also porting SQLWindows,
Quest, SQLGateway/Database Manager and SQLGateway APPC to OS/2 2.0.
SQLBase is currently available for DOS, Microsoft Windows, IBM OS/2,
Novell NetWare (as an NLM) and Sun UNIX.

"We're pleased that Gupta is bringing its client-server products to Windows
NT," said Dwayne Walker, Director of Windows NT Marketing, Microsoft
Corporation. "By combining Gupta's downsizing tools with the strength of
the Windows NT platform as a powerful desktop and server operating system,
corporations will be able to more efficiently re-engineer their
mission-critical applications."

"NT is a powerful and robust platform for database clients and servers, and
will be a critical platform for our customers downsizing and rightsizing
high end mission critical applications to PC networks," said Earl Stahl,
Gupta's Vice President of Desktop Products. "In addition to its
multitasking benefits and the increased performance characteristic of
32-bit systems, NT will give client-server users increased security and
network management features. 32-bit support allows the development of
mission-critical client-server applications that take full advantage of
today's hardware technologies."

Gupta Corporation, founded in 1984, is the leading vendor of client-server
database software for PC networks. Gupta's products are widely used by
major corporations to downsize/rightsize their applications to PC LANs.

Gupta's SQLBase Server pioneered the market for PC client-server databases,
and continues to be the only such database designed expressly for
networked PCs. The NLM version recently established a new performance
standard for PC client-server databases. SQLWindows has been instrumental
in the growth of applications developed for client-server networks. Quest
is a data access, query and reporting tool for end-users, and SQLNetwork
is a family of software products (SQLGateway and SQLRouter) for connecting
Gupta tools and servers to other server data sources including DB2,
ORACLE, Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, AS/400 Database,
HP/ALLBASE and HP/TurboIMAGE, Cincom SUPRA Server and others.
