MOBILE COMPUTING DRIVES PC EXPO IN NEW YORK

PCMCIA and Exhibitors Display Latest Portable Technologies to Corporate
Buyers at PC EXPO, June 29-July 1, at Javits Convention Center

(Fort Lee, NJ, April 2) -- The latest portable technologies, including
laptop, palmtop and PDA computers, will be on display in the Mobile
Computing Pavilion at the Eleventh Annual PC EXPO in New York. The trade
show and conference will take place June 29-July 1, at the Jacob K. Javits
Convention Center in New York.

The Portable Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA), a
nonprofit trade association and standards organization based in Sunnyvale,
CA, is the cornerstone of the show's first Mobile Computing Pavilion. PC
memory cards are peripheral devices that supply additional capabilities to
computers, including memory, mass storage, LAN, fax/modem and wireless
capabilities. The PCMCIA supports the growth of mobile computing by
promoting memory card standards of small size, increased ruggedness and
flexible operation.

Brendan McGuire, executive director of the PCMCIA, said that PC EXPO will
provide an excellent showcase for the association to deliver their message
to the show's audience of corporate volume buyers and major trade
resellers.

"At PC EXPO in New York, the PCMCIA Gallery within the Mobile Computing
Pavilion will demonstrate and display the widespread industry acceptance
of the PCMCIA standard," said Mr. McGuire. "The Gallery will include both
systems incorporating PCMCIA technology and a variety of PC cards ranging
from cellular to wireless communication cards."

Portable technology will be displayed throughout the PC EXPO show floor,
which spans three levels of the Javits Center. Many PC EXPO exhibitors are
PCMCIA members, including: Advanced Micro Devices, Dell, Epson America,
Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Logitech, Lotus, Megahertz, NCR, Panasonic,
Texas Instruments and Zenith Data Systems, to name a few.

The pavilion will be just one showcase at PC EXPO in New York, which will
feature more than 800 exhibitors at this year's show. There will also be
Multimedia and Windows/OS/2 Pavilions. The exhibits portion of the show
will be complemented by the PC EXPO Seminar Series, featuring 80 seminars,
including mobile computing topics.
