NEW LAPTOP VERSION OF ELECTRONIC TRAVEL GUIDE DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS
TRAVELERS

Contains Entertainment Information on 36 Key Destinations

Santa Barbara, CA: The release of the expanded, updated Version 3.1 of the
PC TRAVEL AND ENTERTAINMENT GUIDE was announced today by the TravelData
Company, software publishers who specialize in electronic travel planners
for business travelers with laptops.

Designed as both an in-flight and home office personal productivity tool,
the new Version 3.1 also includes a print utility for office use that will
output preformatted guides to restaurants, entertainment, sightseeing,
hotels, rental car price comparisons and local weather conditions for each
city, or a specific area within the city. The 36 destinations included in
PC TRAVEL account for approximately 80% of the business travel
destinations in the U.S., plus Paris and London.

The laptop version is ideally designed to both minimize the hard disk
storage requirements and also allow the user to retrieve data directly
from the floppy disk on a geographical basis. The data disks are divided
into either the Eastern half of the United States (including London and
Paris), or the Western half which includes the Hawaiian Islands. The 250K
retrieval program is stored permanently on the hard disk. A special
install program for Windows users has also been incorporated into the new
version with a PC TRAVEL icon already loaded into the PCT directory.

According to TravelData President, William Benjamin, "...the new 3.1 laptop
version of PC TRAVEL is the most complete, cost-effective travel planner
now available to frequent travelers who like to plan their own trips. It
saves hours of frustrating phone calls, and provides the critical,
unbiased information needed to make business trips more comfortable, more
interesting, and more productive." He estimated that users will save at
least $25-$50 per trip and still enjoy better restaurants and hotels via
the best buy recommendations and price comparisons that are instantly
displayed for each city.

A corporate rate flagging program enables the business traveler to flag
hotels, rental car agencies and restaurants with whom their company has
pre-negotiated special rates or discounts. The special rates or discounts
can be inserted by the user and this information will automatically be
saved from one edition to the next. Corporate travel managers can
customize their internal version of PC TRAVEL with corporate rates, and
distribute copies of the customized version to their frequent travelers on
a special license basis.

New content features that have been added to PC TRAVEL include performance
dates and programs for local theater, symphony, opera, ballet, and
professional sports, as well as new exhibits that are scheduled for local
museums, historical sites, and city celebrations.

The electronic city guide continues to provide exhaustive, critical
coverage of star-rated restaurants that are searchable by 26 different
cuisine types, as well as star-rated hotels that can be viewed by price
range and location. A "Best Buy" menu choice allows the user to browse
through five price ranges for hotels, restaurants and rental cars and
quickly select the best buy -- i.e. the most value per dollar -- for
lodging, dining or transportation.

The PC TRAVEL AND ENTERTAINMENT GUIDE is sold only on a subscription basis
with six-month updates being shipped automatically. An annual subscription
costs $49.95 and can be ordered by calling, toll-free, 800-635-9777. The
user support number for all subscribers is (805) 683-0301.

The regular desktop version that is loaded directly on the hard disk
combines all data and the retrieval program on two high-density disks, or
three to five low-density diskettes, and requires 4.5 megabytes of hard
disk storage, 640K of internal memory and an IBM compatible computer that
runs DOS 2.1 or higher.

The special laptop Version 3.1 of the PC TRAVEL GUIDE requires an IBM or
compatible personal computer with 640K of internal memory and operates on
DOS 2.1 or higher. The program disk requires only 240K of hard disk
storage while each 1.44MB data disk requires a high density drive.

The initial search level of the software program displays quickly a price
and quality of service comparison screen, with address and phone number,
for preliminary decision making. The user can then browse for more
detailed information at the second level, calling up each individual
facility for a complete description and critical review. Specific
locations are searchable by downtown, neighborhood, suburban and airport
areas. The easy-to-use program requires only four keys to operate the
entire program.

For Windows users, there is a special set of installation instructions plus
a PC TRAVEL icon that is installed in the PCT directory.
